who actually played the solo on the album? just wondering.
Tommy Emmanuel is always saying if you're gonna play the style he plays you've absolutely gotta use a thumb pick, and I think the only reason people don't is that it's fiddly and you've gotta get the right one. I've tried on and off for years.
I bet that necks not cheap 😏🥴
Nice solo, but I'm more impressed with that guitar. I just love it ... can you tell us more about it. Was it modded, has a real old school look to it ... please elaborate .. thanks.
It’s a 90s California Series tele with some Dimarzio virtual vintage pickups. Thanks for watching.
the song was written by John Stewart (Not Jon Stewart) and the Monkees had to change one word from "Funky" to"happy" in order to record it.
Suggestion. If you will think chords (arpeggio) (1,(3b -3),5,b7) and some chromatism. It is much easier to learn it. Works for me - And I hope it is same for everybody.
I play music with neighbors and this tune comes up a lot. I've always strum-faked my way through it, but it never sounded John Denver's lovely tune. This gets a lot closer. It's definitely going to take some time but will be well worth it. Tyvm
Which key are you playing on
This is excellent accuracy of the can’t you see! Thank you . I’m wondering How would you end the song if playing just you and guitar?
Great lesson- very clear!
I have to Kemper Rack ever since it was released and now have the Player on order. I figure that if one have a midi controller then one could get by with the limited slots for effects by switching presets… only question I have is if the loading of new presets is fast enough?
Changing presets on the Player is instantaneous just like the Stage or Remote. For exra switches check out the M-Vave Chocolate four switch midi controller...about $35.00.
@@guitartoneSA Thank you… that should remove most limitations of the two pre and two post slots then 🙂 I already have a midi controller, the Morningstar MC6 Pro… 👍🏻
❤❤
I asked RUclips a question and RUclips sent me the perfect answer. Many thanks!
like super-thumb did it.....................
Hey! Do you know what amp settings are you using to play take it easy?
That was Helix Native using a US Princess amp model with the LA Studio Compressor a 63 spring reverb and a room reverb.
@@TheGuitarFam thanks so much! :)
I always keep losing the thumb pick when i try. Are there any upstrokes or alternate picking using a thumb pick? Or is it only down strokes?
Yeah, I had to downsize from a large to a medium and use a lighter thickness to use a thumbpick for alternate picking.
Do it up southern...
Thank you very much for this brilliant comparison. As you said, both ones are good ones and it depends on personal longings which one might be the better one. 🙏🏽
Sure. Thanks for watching.
KILLER#
This is just what I was looking for, in my opinion the "thinking" part is the most invaluable thing about this! I love the side diagram of what scale/ chord position we are in, it helps us improvisors know where we are meaning we could put our own stamp on it! Subscribed!
Thanks for watching. I really like teaching like this and picking apart the solos.
Dude this is fun, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Exelente Maestro gracias
De nada.
It's one of the greatest songs ever written. Absolutely in my top 5.
One of the greatest solos of all time
🙏🙏❤😊
Love me some Marshall Tucker
👍👍👍❤️❤️
Congratulation and thanks ! That is a Lesson!!! Just the right words, just the right demo and additional TABs and notes. ...Now it's my turn to bring it in my fingers and brain
I get stuck after the first third bar
Would you consider doing more Hymns? That was soul stirring. 😊
Yeah. I have some ideas for this but it will take a while. Thanks for watching.
I LIKE " 22 " FRETS.🤙☆🤙
Absolutely fantastic have a wonderful day ❤😊
Great lesson! The fingerstyle part is terrific. Thanks Nate!
Thanks for watching Jim.
Great lesson! The fingerstyle part is terrific. Thanks Nate!
This might be a fun song to play.
came here to consider a maple neck. rosewood has a more focused punchy bass attack, probably combing out some of the mids (pores absorb more low midrange). maple sounds a little out of control. id say rosewood lends to a compressed smooth sound, like a strat, bridge/mid blend picking choppy rhythms (dirty or clean). maple lends to a snarly tele sound, of either single coil pinned at 10. its certainly more articulate, but not as strumable with all the mids. i suppose fingerstyle would be better on a neck that feels this "lively". when i rake a pick through strings i dont want the guitar sending midrange to the amp out of the jack, i like to add midrange at the amps gain stage wear i can dial it into the swell, i dont want mids on the attack its a mess. itd be great for certain lead tones
Spot on.
Good but you waisted too much time explaining the chords which stops the flow of the solo lesson.Annoying.
I've owned both and watched a lot of good reviews like this one. You hit the nail on the head; it's not really about the tone as both are great; it's more about workflow. I've sold the Tonex pedal and kept the Kemper Player mainly because I find Rig Manager so much easier to navigate, use, and audit tones with. I don't know if IK Multimedia has made updates recently, but auditing tones on the pedal vs. on your software was quite cumbersome and it slowed me down. I will never say Tonex is a bad product (It's obviously not) but I love my Kemper and I'm able to get to great tones a lot quicker and manage my presets a lot faster.
Yeah, all these things are getting to the level where workflow, preferences, and feel are the things I look out for. Not so much sound. Thanks for watching.
One of my favorites, I can pick it but not up to tempo. I like to think I’m intermediate, but sometimes I don’t think I’ve progressed that far.
Yeah, that's a secondary dominant chord. Changes the A minor to an A major.
Very good. Thanks❤
Por conta do título não é possível enxergar totalmente, se for possível melhorar isto teria um salto maior, apenas uma sugestão.
nice test. did you use the same IR in both devices? For live whatever. For recordings only Tonex
Thanks for watching. No. I used whatever the capture had for the Tonex, and the stock cabs that go with the amps that I used on the HX Stomp. I figured that would give a better out of the box representation.
Great lesson, man. Thanks.
That's the best cover on youtube. Thank you so much.
I have a CE24 Swamp Ash Special. I took out the 85/15 pickups, and the bridge. I put in the Supervee. Hated it. Tried Callaham. Hated it. There was no tuning stability. I put in Seymour Duncan Seth Lover and a 59 in the neck. The Supervee Bladerunner was very nice, but I couldn’t use the trem without the guitar going out of tune too much. The Callaham sounded better, but caused terrible overtones and there is no tuning stability. I had the Callaham installed by a luthier, and it still was unusable. Perhaps I got a bad one. Now I’m $550 in on new trem bridges, but no better off.
Okay.... the Hiwatt did not sound like my DR 504. neither had THAT Hiwatt sound you get when you are close to it. maybe YT upload compression destroys your sound?
How do you know what your Hiwatt sounds like after its been mic'd and recorded and then the recording uploaded to RUclips?
Best instruction online- just the right speed, explanation on RUclips. The only guy to show the finger placement on cords.
With that kind of tone, only 3 players always come to my mind. Michael Landau Dann Huff & Steve Lukather.
That's Right.
